Lessons I learnt from Maya Angelou

Lessons I learnt from Maya Angelou
The worldwide web and news media is awash with news of the passing away of an international literary icon, Maya Angelou at the age of 86. Encomiums have been showered on this rare gem who had 30 doctorate degrees but there also lessons to be drawn from her over eight decade soujourn on planet earth. These lessons are hidden in some of her quotes:

1.   "I believe that each of us comes from the creator trailing wisps of glory."
You were born an original.
There is no photocopy anywhere. There was never and will never be another you.
This is worth celebrating. You need to make your life a marathon celebration.
Each of us comes to this
world with our own unique form of greatness. You have something in you that can
make this world stand on its feet as it celebrates another hero. This is the
time to bring out that glory hidden in your talents and gifts. This is the time
to work out your salvation of greatness. This is the time to awaken the giant
within.

2.  "You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them."
Life can bring you the
good, bad and ugly but do not react at what it brings. Instead, respond to the
possibilities you find within your problems. If life gives you a lemon, turn it
into lemonade. If you get orange ,turn it into orange juice. The guys at
silicon valley got sand and they turned into micro chips.
It is not what happens to
you that matters. It is what you transform the matter into, that determines
what happens to you. You are not the first to face that problem and you shall
not be the last, too. Just learn the lessons you need to learn and move on with
your life.

3.   "Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud."
We are not in this world just for money, wealth, fame, sex and whatever man considers as the pleasures of life. We are here to solve problems which is in-evitable.Your life, gifts and talents
is a solution to someone else’s problem. When you solve other people’s problems then life gives you treasures.
A rainbow has many colours and you have many blessings you may not know of that you can share with others.
Put a smile on a sad face, give hope to a distressed countenance, share joy and
laughter where sorrow once lived and give words of comfort to the broken
hearted. Doesn’t it make you feel rich? I bet it does, especially when it is
done with a joyful heart.
